UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

Overview

My husband is a graduate of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School – so I am filled with nostalgia thinking about our undergrad days studying with him before his classes, meeting him for lunch, and watching him walk across the stage to graduate outside of the McColl building. It was extremely special to get to work on the redesign of the new Kenan-Flagler website with New Media Campaigns.

This project was a particularly big challenge for me. The site is content dense and the previous website was poorly structured with a confusing flow to users. I worked with the client to help strategize a new navigational flow throughout their five pillar programs. In addition to creating the UI layouts for individual templates, I developed a library of components that the client could mix and match to create an infinite amount of custom layouts.

A few unique elements that I got to design for this site include ambient video banners on all landing pages, a comprehensive Giving page detailing various ways Alumni can give back to the school, a "Brick Finder" tool where users can locate a named brick in the McColl Plaza and read the inscription, and a full-page timeline outlining the history of the school.
