What I'm reading

We have been cooped up indoors over here due to an ice storm that has closed down most of North Carolina. Here's a few links I didn't end up tweeting this week, but thought I'd pass along in case you were stuck inside too:

  1. Sophie in North Korea: North Korea is a bizarre, bizarre place. If you can get past the terrible layout, this blog post on Google chairman Eric Schmidt and his daughter's recent trip to North Korea is a crazy learning experience on one of the weirdest countries in the world.
  2. Running on Snow and Ice: If you are training for a race like me, this list of tips is a must read. Although I'll definitely be sticking to the treadmill this weekend...
  3. As Obama heads back to office, a battle rages over the tech that got him reelected: An interesting read on what's happening with all the code that the Obama team put together. I'm definitely sympathetic toward the programmers, who want to share the code with the open source community they based their projects off of, but it's hard to pick sides.
  4. Tuts+ Hub: I am so happy I found this, a hub of any design or craft tutorial I could imagine. I will definitely be going through some of these this weekend.
