2013

2012 was a good year.

I bought my first car, made new friends, traveled, moved to a fabulous new apartment,  and had some exciting work and freelance projects. Not to mention I finally bit the bullet and started blogging!

While I'll be sad to see this year ago, I've got a feeling 2013 is going to be a good one. Here's a few things I'd like to see happen over the next year:

Design More In 2012 I had a lot of developer-related goals, including becoming more comfortable with building responsively and working with javascript. I think I can safely say that I've accomplished those goals, and now want to focus more on my design skills. I've almost been working solely on web design projects at work for about a month now, and I can already say it's helped me grow a lot. In addition to work, I'm hoping to get to some personal design projects I've been putting off. Maybe I'll even get around to designing this website one day...

Watch Less TV I have a huge tv addiction (I may or may not have watched all 300+ episodes of Law & Order SVU in only a few months...). I've been watching it while I work on freelance, while I eat dinner, during my free time, and when hanging out with Eric. I would definitely like to cut out a few tv shows and limit myself to only a few nights of tv watching each week.

Spend Less, Save More This should probably be a life long goal because it's not something I do very well. I took the first step today by unsubscribing from most of my online retails emails. Baby steps!

Learn to Sew I bought all the supplies, took a class, but I've yet to actually sit down and try to use my machine at home.

Run, Run, Run! My main goal is to run a half marathon by the end of this year. This is a big feat since I LOATHE running. I've finally made myself sign up for my first 5K and the Tar Heel 10-miler in April. Now here's to keeping up the running practice 3 days a week...

Blog More One of my 2012 goals (and 2011, and 2010) was to start blogging. While I can officially check that off my list, I still am not satisfied with how often I am posting (which is almost never). This year I'd like to start blogging almost daily, and have more posts about my work.

Here's to 2013!
