It’s pretty rare that I get to work on a site that easily lends itself to visuals that are not photographs. So when the Association for Netherlandic Studies approached New Media Campaigns to redesign their site I was ecstatic with all the possibilities a cultural studies organization for a vibrant country could lend itself to. I ended up creating a colorful illustration for the homepage and interior banners reminiscent of the rows of houses in Amsterdam. The rest of the design is simple and organized to call attention to their content, namely their news and upcoming events. Bright call-to-action buttons encourage users to become an AANS member, or visit other areas of the site. The site is also responsive, so the clean and fresh design is carried through on mobile devices.
